Trinity Trade Post is located inside the KLEVR by DEFENDR SECURITY storefront in Trinity, Texas. Behind the active KLEVR retail space were rooms with real potential—space that could do more than sit unused. We chose to open it up to people who want to start, test and grow businesses of their own.
Traditional storefronts can be expensive, especially for a new business that is still trying to prove its idea. At the same time, Trinity has talented people with products, services, skills and ideas that may never reach a local audience because there is no practical place to begin.
Rather than leave our extra space sitting empty, we want to use it as a lower-cost stepping stone. Trinity Trade Post gives entrepreneurs a place to meet customers, test demand, improve their concept and build momentum without needing to take on the overhead of a full retail location on day one.
Trinity Trade Post was created by Joshua, owner of KLEVR by DEFENDR SECURITY and DEFENDR SECURITY, a U.S. Army veteran and local business owner.
For Joshua, this is not simply about filling vendor spaces. It is about using an existing local business and its unused space to give other people a realistic chance to build something of their own.

We hear from residents who want more variety, more useful services and more things to do without having to leave the area. A healthy local economy cannot depend on the same handful of concepts repeating over and over. It needs new ideas, different businesses and entrepreneurs willing to take a chance.
That is why the Trade Post is intentionally curated. We want businesses that add something to Trinity instead of simply duplicating what is already here. The goal is to create a destination that can draw residents from Trinity, communities around Lake Livingston and visitors from across East Texas.
Help people move from “I’ve been thinking about this” to a real offer, real customers and real feedback.
Recruit useful, interesting businesses that residents would otherwise have to travel elsewhere to find.
Create more opportunities for money spent by local households and visitors to circulate through locally operated businesses.
Give first-time entrepreneurs and growing businesses a lower-overhead environment where they can learn, improve and expand.
Trinity is rich in history, but a town also has to keep creating reasons for new families, entrepreneurs, customers and taxpayers to participate in its future. As long-time residents grow older, the community will need the next generation of businesses and residents to help support the local economy and tax base.
Our hope is that Trinity Trade Post can become one small part of that effort. Over time, we would like to work alongside the City, County and other local organizations where opportunities align to help encourage meaningful revitalization and responsible local growth.
Trinity Trade Post is an independently operated private business initiative and is not presented as a program or partnership of the City of Trinity or Trinity County.
Trinity has history, character, local knowledge, nearby recreation and a community that knows what it wants to see improve. The potential is here. Our job is not to turn Trinity into somewhere else—it is to help create more opportunities for the people who already care about this place, while welcoming new businesses and customers who can contribute to its future.
